Leather Steampunk Bracer by swanboy Leather Steampunk Bracer by swanboy
I've tweaked this design a bit and finally got better pictures. I'll probably make a couple more changes next time I make these--they're currently a bit short for my liking.

7-9oz veg tanned leather, up to three layers thick, hand-stitched and rivetted. Antique brown base with chocolate and black accents. Padded with 3mm EVA foam.

Now $60, $110/pair

A really neat bit craftwork. One question, though: Doesn't the strap on the palm of the hand get annoying, or in the way?

Nope! It's 3/8" wide and about 1/8" thick. I usually wear a pair at events and I'm able to use my tools just fine.

Very cool.  I love the simplicity and what looks to be purposeful durability.  I would wear this in real life for protection if I lived in that kind of world.

Thanks. I see so much armor that is clearly impractical so I try to keep my grounded in function and simplicity. I also look for ways to evoke a steampunk style without just gluing gears and watch parts onto shit.

It really shows in your work.  I know nothing about anything, but I do know what would work for the simple person who is just shopping for good products!  Keep it up!!!  If I ever get to design a custom plushy that needs "armor" I will look up your work again.  Thank you for your inspiration.

Thanks, I think a lot of people make steampunk pieces overly complicated and busy but I try to keep it simple.
